Dog Friendly Walks on The English Riviera

The English Riviera - Full of great places to walk your dog.

There is an amazing array of walking opportunities with your canine pal on offer around Torquay and The English Riviera. There are gentle strolls along Torquay seafront punctuated with stops for a drink in the sun at one of the wonderful bars and cafes watching the World go by.

There are more ambitious walks along the fabulous coastline with stunning coastal scenery at every turn and with the pleasure of discovering hidden coves.

There are great play opportunities on one of the many English Riviera beaches. Some of our beaches stay dog friendly all year around whilst others allow dogs from 30th September to 1st May. And of course there are opportunities to explore areas such as Cockington Country Park and Cockington Village where there are dog friendly tea rooms at which you can stop by and have a Devon Cream Tea.

Dog Friendly Places to Eat in Torquay & The English Riviera

It is incredible how easy it is to find a place to eat in and around Torquay and The English Riviera where your dog will also be made to feel welcome.

A short distance from the Muntham Apartments in the Wellswood area of Torquay you can find amazing restaurants like The Waddling Duck or Delicatessen / cafes like Me and Mrs Jones plus of course the ever popular Kent's pub.

On Torquay harbourside, there are several great dog friendly places to eat or have a drink including Lulus whilst further along the seafront by the Princess Theatre is Pier Point which has plenty of dog friendly outdoor space.

Meanwhile, in Babbacombe, you can find the fully dog friendly & truly superb Angels Tea Rooms and in St Marychurch there is the fanatstic little Silver Goose Cafe.

Dog Friendly Attractions in Torquay and The English Riviera

Many visitors with dogs assume that it is impossible to take advanatge of our array of visitor attractions when accompanied by a dog but it is not true. Quite a number such as The Babaccombe Model Village and Bygones are more than happy to welcome dogs provided they are well behaved and kept on leads.

Slightly further afield from The English Riviera there are attractions such as The Donkey Sanctuary at Sidmouth which welcomes dogs (including in its cafe) and which is free to visit. Nearby, is the Seaton tramway which is also dog friendly.

For the attractions where it is not possible to visit with a dog, we are able to recommend professional dog sitting and walking services who can take good care of your canine companion whilst you go out and enjoy your visit.

Dog Friendly Watersports on The English Riviera

No you haven't misread this and no it isn't a joke!

Some of the watersports providers specifically make provision for you to take your dog out kayaking or paddle boarding.

They have buoyancy aids for a variety of sized dogs. Naturally, some dogs will be keener on this than others and so you will need to judge how your four legged pal will react.
